The Sayaun Dent Memorial Foundation, Inc. is thrilled to announce the 2024 Sayaun Dent scholarship recipients, marking another year of empowering and supporting the academic endeavors of deserving students. Alongside this celebration, the foundation is proud to introduce a groundbreaking event for Bladen County: the first-ever annual ESPY Awards Event.
Scheduled for June 15, 2024, at the Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery, the ESPY Awards Event promises an evening of glamour and recognition, honoring excellence in sports performance, both past and present, in true red-carpet fashion. It is a black-tie event.
“We are excited to showcase the incredible talents and achievements of athletes in our community,” expressed Dr. Crystal Rogers Sayaun, mother of Sayaun Dent. “We hope that the community will come out and support this event.”

The foundation emphasizes its impartial stance, clarifying its non-participation in the nomination and voting processes. An independent committee conducted all nominations, with out-of-state voters ensuring fairness and impartiality in the selection of nominees and winners.
“This event is a celebration of all sports and athletes, past and present,” remarked a foundation spokesperson. “We invite everyone to join us in honoring their achievements and supporting the youth in our community.”
