At Solano Community College, it’s back to classrooms and, for those interested, back to filling out scholarship applications, some with a deadline as soon as late next week.
The SCC Educational Foundation has opened its fall 2025 scholarship opportunities for students at any one of the school’s three campuses, in Vacaville, Vallejo and Fairfield.
In a press statement, Foundation officials said a variety of scholarships are available, with many applications closing on Aug. 29. Students are encouraged to explore and apply at: https://solano.academicworks.com/.
“We are proud to continue supporting Solano Community College students through these scholarships,” Carolyn Warne, the Foundation director, said in the statement. “These awards not only ease the financial burden but also recognize the hard work and achievements of our students.”
Scholarship recipients will be honored at a ceremony hosted by the Foundation at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 in the SCC Theatre, 4000 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield.
Foundation officials and the SCC Superintendent-President will present awards to selected students, who will be notified directly and invited to attend.
Last year, the SCC Educational Foundation awarded more than 100 scholarships, distributing over $80,000 in support to SCC students. Details about the number of awards and total amount to be distributed this year will be announced closer to the ceremony, school officials said.
