DURANT, Okla. (KXII) – A scholarship has been created in the name of late Durant basketball coach Will Robinson.
Robinson was killed in a Christmas Eve crash while trying to save his daughter Clara.
His father Tony took over as head coach of Will’s team after his death, and led them to the state basketball tournament.
The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association named Will and Tony Robinson as co-coaches of the year for 5A, District Four.
Now, the OGBCA is offering at least one $750 scholarship in Will’s honor, but they are taking donations to add to the scholarship total.
The scholarship is open to any Oklahoma senior who played on their high school girl’s basketball team.
The deadline to apply is May 1, and the deadline to donate to the fund is April 30.
A winner will be announced on May 5.
The link to donate can be found on the OGBCA website here, and a link to apply for the scholarship can be found here.
If you know of anyone who would like to apply for the Will Robinson Memorial Scholarship, you will find information…
