Replay: Rummel at Jesuit baseball
An initiative to create a scholarship in the name of Ed Daniels is underway at his beloved alma mater, Archbishop Rummel High School.
Daniels, Class of 1975, championed all professional, college and, in particular, prep sports in the Greater New Orleans area and in Louisiana.
His creation of Friday Night Football on WGNO was the benchmark in television coverage of prep football over the course of 32 years and the show continues to this day.
Daniels was a prominent columnist for The Clarion Herald as well.
Also notably, Daniels served as a co-host of The Three Tailgaters Show with Ken Trahan on radio for over 30 years and he was a prominent columnist for CrescentCitySports.com, dating back to its origins as NewOrleans.com Sports beginning in 2008.
Daniels touched many lives, regardless of school affiliations.
Your contribution to memorialize Daniels will benefit young men who would love to attend may not otherwise afford to attend Archbishop Rummel.
Please consider giving to this outstanding cause to honor a wonderful man and friend through this link.
