The family of a fallen Ottawa police officer says ‘thanks’ by starting a memorial scholarship. The family of the late Brian Sember and the Ottawa Police Benevolent Association announced the scholarship Monday. Officer Sember passed away April 3, 2022.
The Officer Brian Sember Memorial scholarship aims to support individuals who exemplify the officer’s honesty, integrity and how Sember understood that everyone makes a mistake. His son, Brady, another reason is to thank the community for their support during a difficult time.
The scholarship is funded through a donation from the Sember estate by his children, Brady and Brynne. The $250 will be awarded for the fall semester at an accredited educational institution. Applications are available at the Ottawa PBPA Unit 18 Facebook page.
