STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) — Hannah Goman was killed in 2022 by a drunk driver but she lives on through dance and her scholarship.
Many gathered at SentryWorld at the Muse Theatre Sunday for the Fourthcoming Danspace Spring Recital, and the announcement of the Hannah Goman Memorial Foundation Scholarship.
Dancers from elementary to high school age levels showed off their routines for nationals that’s just around the corner.
The scholarship was given to Isabelle Trzebiatowski for her commitment to her studies and love of dance.
This year there was no shortage of passion and emotion in the room.
Michelle Strasser-Goman, Hannah’s Mom said, “This year for some reason it was extra emotional, it’s good to see… it’s great to see the surprise in the recipients face because they have no idea, the parents have no idea. It’s enough to cover a couple dance classes for them, so being a mom of a dancer I know how that was.”
The dancing may have concluded when the curtain closed, but Hannah and her message live on through the scholarship.
