At the end of the week, the Keweenaw Community Foundation will open access to the 2025 spring scholarship applications. This year’s awards are supported by several funds managed by the foundation, including the Mildred Mille Pyorala Scholarship.
Established to honor the legacy of a beloved Chassell educator, the Millie Pyorala endowed scholarship provides annual awards to graduating seniors in the Chassell school district. Pyorala dedicated over 30 years to a career in education and inspired countless students to pursue their dreams. The fund will award a single student a 2,000-dollar scholarship to pursue education at a higher learning institution and encourage students to pursue a career in education.
The Keweenaw Community Foundation will continue to accept applications for the Millie Pyorala endowed scholarship, and other 2025 spring scholarship awards until March 16th. Those interested in learning more about the Keweenaw Community Foundation’s 2025 spring scholarship awards can find more information here. Scholarship applications will open on February 1st.
