HAMPTON ROADS — In celebration of Global Volunteer Month, Volunteer Hampton Roads and LISC Hampton Roads announced a scholarship program partnership for small nonprofits in the region.
The scholarship program will offer free VHR memberships to nonprofits with annual revenues under $200,000.
“We understand that small nonprofits are the backbone of our community, yet they often face significant challenges in securing the resources needed to thrive,” said Maerine Mitchell, CEO of Volunteer Hampton Roads. “This partnership with LISC Hampton Roads will directly address these challenges by providing access to our comprehensive membership benefits and professional development opportunities.”
VHR membership provides valuable services including volunteer and board member recruitment support, one-on-one consultation, discounts on background checks, access to training and events and customized board facilitation.
“LISC is dedicated to supporting the capacity building of community-based organizations,” said Jay Grant, Executive Director of LISC. “By partnering with Volunteer Hampton Roads, we can ensure that these vital organizations have the tools they need to engage volunteers effectively and further their missions.”
Additionally, VHR said Network Peninsula, a community partner, will assist in making sure that nonprofits on the peninsula also know about the scholarship and can apply.
