The Reading Housing Authority (RHA) proudly announces the recognition of three outstanding residents whose academic goals are being supported through two meaningful scholarship programs.
Reeyana Richardson of Glenside Homes and Esteffani Alcantara of Oakbrook Homes have been named the 2025 recipients of the Stokes Stitt Scholarship. This award, named in honor of a long-serving RHA Commissioner and passionate advocate for education, provides $2,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years. Since its inception in 2001, the scholarship has been awarded to 37 recipients, representing an investment of more than $100,000 in the futures of RHA participants.
Additionally, RHA will recognize Jovanny Amoros Bracero of Oakbrook Homes as the first-place recipient of the Paul G. Pecharko Memorial Scholarship, awarded on behalf of the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies (PAHRA). Esteffani Alcantara has also been named a recipient of the Paul G. Pecharko Memorial Scholarship, further demonstrating her exceptional promise and dedication.
These scholarships underscore RHA’s commitment to empowering residents through education and opportunity.
The recipients will be recognized by the Board of Commissioners during RHA’s monthly meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at the William W. Willis Center for Administration located at 400 Hancock Blvd., Reading.
Established in 1939 to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing, the Reading Housing Authority has since expanded its mission to include service-enriched housing that supports economic self-sufficiency for families and fosters independence and community engagement for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
The Stokes Stitt Scholarship Program, along with RHA’s partnership with PAHRA, exemplifies the organization’s ongoing commitment to empowering residents across the City of Reading.
Fantastic work and thanks so much for the quick turnaround! Always a pleasure to work with you and the rest of the BCTV team!
I am happy and proud to be a part of such a dedicated assembly of talent and purpose. Thank you for being a part of my efforts to promote theater and the arts in this region.
Wish my town had a channel like this, very cool idea to bring the community together and give people a platform.
Thank you and your staff for all you do to accommodate so many different shows, personalities, etc.! Can’t be easy, but we really do appreciate it.
I wanted to thank you again for the opportunity you have created for our kids. This experience is more than the TV show. Eight students who probably never would have talked to each other were excited to execute a plan. Know that you make a difference.
Thanks for your commitment to communication far and wide, for your technical support, and tireless efforts to bring fresh programs to BCTV. Bravo!
Thank you for always being receptive to my ideas. All of your efforts help me to help others and that is a blessing to me.
