25 lucky high school students receive awards, totaling $83,500, from the South Florida Fair.
The scholarships, sponsored by FPL, ranged from $2,000 to $4,000 and were divided into four categories: general, agriculture, nursing and fine arts.
The scholarship money can be used at any accredited institution of higher learning or trade school. The winners were selected based on grades, needs, and an essay addressing their educational plans and career goals. Students from Palm Beach, Broward, Martin, Hendry and Okeechobee counties were eligible.

Since 1982, the Fair has awarded more than $938,500 in scholarship money.
