Sudbury business students have a chance at earning a scholarship to ease the financial burden of their schooling.
Starting in the fall, students enrolled full time in Cambrian College’s four-year bachelor of business administration program will be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship toward their studies.
“We’re excited to be offering degree-level programming and we really want the best and brightest students, who want to earn a bachelor of business administration degree, to come to Cambrian,” Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian’s vice-president of academic, said in a news release.
“These same students will be eligible to receive a second $1,000 award when they enter their second semester in January 2024, provided they earned a grade point average of 75 per cent or better in their first semester of studies and are continuing on as full-time students.”
Scheduled to launch in September, the newly announced program enables students to specialize in one of three areas: — accounting, data analytics, digital marketing — or to earn a general business administration degree.
The accounting stream is also recognized by Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario, meaning it is a clear pathway into the accounting profession.
Cambrian said that students holding a college diploma in a business-related field may also be eligible for advanced placement within the degree program.
