The Stokes County Arts Council awarded six college art scholarships on Sunday, April 13, as part of the Student Art Extravaganza Reception held at The Arts Place of Stokes venue in Danbury. The organization annually awards scholarships to graduating high school students who plan to major or minor in an arts related degree program at a two, or four year college, as well as students already attending a two or four year college in an arts degree program.
• Samantha Bean was awarded a $1,500 scholarship and will attend Catawba College in the fall. She is a senior at West Stokes High School and is the daughter of Dawn Manning of Pinnacle.
