Three Hingham residents were among more than 100 students awarded individual $2,000 academic scholarships at Quincy College’s annual scholarship night on October 16.
Cecilia Boutin received one of 22 scholarships sponsored by the Quincy College Foundation; Vinci Nguyen received a scholarship sponsored by Abington Bank; and Sean Shubin received a Galvin Construction Scholarship.
“Scholarship assistance is crucial to the futures of so many of our students, so we’re sincerely grateful to the growing number of individuals and businesses whose support makes our scholarship program possible.” said Foundation chair Paul Barbadoro.
“Honoring the most deserving students with recognition for their academic achievements while easing their financial burden validates the work that we and our philanthropic partners do to help assure that as many Quincy College students as possible get the opportunity to pursue their dream of a college education.”
“Other than our annual Commencement exercises, this is the most celebratory event of the academic year,” said Quincy College President Dr. Richard DeCristofaro. “It’s both gratifying and humbling to see how the power of broad community support can make such a difference in individual lives. We deeply appreciate that support, which enables us to better respond to the evolving needs of our students.”
