MADRID, 24 January 2025 (Hina) – The University of Zagreb has announced a competition for ten scholarships for an online Croatian language course.
The scholarships are available to individuals of Croatian descent living in South America, the Croatian Embassy in Chile stated on Thursday.
“The scholarships are intended for people of Croatian origin from South America who reside outside Croatia. Applicants must have completed secondary education and be at least 18 years old,” according to the embassy’s website.
The application deadline is 27 January, and the course will run from 3 March to 25 May and again from 15 September to 7 December.
The initiative has been launched by the Croatian Heritage Foundation, the University of Zagreb, and the University Computing Centre (Srce).

According to the Office for Croatians Abroad, based in Zagreb, approximately 825,000 Croatians and their descendants live in South America, including 300,000 in Argentina and 200,000 in Chile.
