Scholarships for Scholars awarded a total of $196,000 to 34 graduating high school seniors from Anne Arundel County during its 41st Annual Awards Ceremony on April 30, 2025. The event was held at St. John’s College in Annapolis and recognized students from 14 public and private high schools for their academic achievements across a broad range of disciplines.
Since its founding in 1984, Scholarships for Scholars has awarded more than $3 million to over 1,000 local students. The program highlights excellence in fields such as engineering, science, creative writing, visual and performing arts, mathematics, history, social sciences, health and physical education, computer science, and world classical languages.
This year’s ceremony featured remarks from Board Chair Laura Nelson, comments from honorary recipient Sabrina Richter of Severna Park High School, and a keynote address from Nora Demleitner, President of St. John’s College.
Fourteen of the scholarships were sponsored by local organizations and families, including Anne Arundel Retired School Personnel Association, Books for International Goodwill, Bo’s Effort, Crosby Marketing Communications, RBC Baum Jackson Group, the Shane A. Morris II Family, and the Zach Schwartz Family.
Board Chair Laura Nelson encouraged the recipients with this message: “As you take the next step in your academic and personal journey, remember: this scholarship is not just a recognition of where you’ve been, but a launchpad for where you’re headed. The future is full of opportunity, and we are confident that you will continue to shine in all your endeavors.”
The list of recipients is below. Congrats to all!
