Investing in yourself begins with education. As you explore your options, here are three things to know:
You can apply for many scholarships offered through MSU. View scholarships based on your student status.
Incoming freshmen
Transfer students
Currently enrolled students
Graduate students
Friends of Missouri State – alumni, groups and companies – donate scholarship funds each year.
View donor funded scholarships
Search donor funded scholarships
Many organizations outside the university provide scholarships each year. Examples of scholarship search sites:
Fastweb Scholarship Experts
Super College Scholarship
Search Sallie Mae’s Scholarship
Search Sallie Mae’s Graduate Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded each year to students who demonstrate qualities such as, but not limited to, outstanding academic achievement, leadership involvement and financial need. The funds come from multiple sources and do not have to be repaid.
You must first be admitted to the university. Once accepted, review our general information on applying for the four main types of financial aid: scholarships, grants, loans and work study. View more details at How to Apply for Financial Aid.
We encourage you to begin the admission process shortly after you complete your junior year of high school or two semesters prior to entering Missouri State, if you are a transfer student.
In general, you must reapply for financial aid each year. Each type of financial aid and scholarship may require you to meet established policies to maintain funding. View more details at How do I Keep My Financial Aid.
For those who were unable to renew their institutional scholarship but wish to appeal their fund termination, please complete and submit the Institutional Scholarship Appeal form.
Some students may wish to place their institutional scholarship on hold to participate in internships, for life-enriching experiences, or due to extenuating circumstances beyond their ability to control. To request a hold be placed on your institutional scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Hold Request Form.
