A local nonprofit, Fresh Eddie Futures, is offering scholarships to help aspiring winemakers pursue careers in viticulture. Wine enthusiast Lynn Fraschetti, with her love for Pinot Noir, organizes the annual Palm Springs Pinot Noir Festival to fund these scholarships. One recipient, Daniela Lopez Torres, is studying viticulture at Fresno State and credits the scholarship with making her winemaking dreams more achievable. This year’s festival will take place at the Westin Rancho Mirage from January 30 to February 2, where the next scholarship recipients will be announced. Fraschetti remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of winemakers through her efforts.
