Avasara Foundation has distributed scholarships and tablet computers to schoolchildren in four villages adopted by Karnatak University Dharwad under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
Chairman of the organisation Anand Chaturvedi and other office-bearers presented scholarships worth ₹3.60 lakh to 34 students and tabs worth ₹2.62 lakh to 15 girl students of Kuruvinakoppa, Dhumwad, Gambhyapur and Devalinganakoppa villages which have been adopted by Karnatak University under the Abhiyan.
Mr. Chaturvedi wished that the students use the money and equipment to excel in their studies.
The foundation, which is based in Bengaluru, has been providing scholarships to girl students from rural areas to pursue higher education, he said.
He said that the foundation has collaborated with the Commerce Department in Karnatak College Dharwad in launching logistics training.
Karnatak University Vice-Chancellor A.M. Khan thanked the foundation.
Managing director of the foundation Malavika Chaturvedi recalled her days as a student of Karnatak University and said that she is happy to be able to help the students of the university in her own way.
Coordinator of Mahayogi Veman Peetha H.B. Neelagund and coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan cell Chetan J.D. and others were present.
