Three students have been awarded $500 scholarships from the South Side Boat Club and Mermaids.
Brice Varner is the son of Carrie Payne and Clayton Varner. He plans to attend Monmouth College to get a degree in exercise science that focuses on the scientific study of human movement and its impact on health and fitness.
Peyton Lambert is the son of Erica and Gabe Lambert. Peyton plans to attend Southeastern Community College in Burlington for a degree in exercise science.
Tyce Fullerton is the son of Heath and Annie Fullerton. He plans to attend John Wood Community College and major in criminal justice.
SSBC awards three $500 scholarships each year to qualifying seniors.
