Scoops for Scholarships raises $830 for students – Akron.com

AKRON — American Advertising Federation-Akron’s Executive Director, Cecilia Sveda, celebrated her 10th anniversary with the organization by hosting an ice cream social at Chill Ice Cream Co. in downtown Akron July 17. The event benefited the Susan B. Kosich Endowed Scholarship for Marketing Communications of Akron Community Foundation.
Additionally, 12 gallons of her limited-edition flavor, “Cecilia’s Summer S’mores,” was served throughout July. Chill donated a portion of sales to the scholarship.
The event raised $830 for the recently endowed scholarship that will benefit students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field. The first scholarship will be awarded Feb. 27 at the 81st American Advertising Awards at The Akron Civic Theatre.
