SCSU Manufacturing Program Awarded $18,000 Gene Haas Foundation Grant for Student Scholarships – KNSI

(KNSI) – St. Cloud State University’s Manufacturing Engineering Technology program has received an $18,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation to support student scholarships.
The foundation, which focuses on teaching Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine technology, provides money to help students develop research skills and technical expertise needed in the manufacturing industry. The MFET program focuses on hands-on learning with industry equipment, preparing students for careers in manufacturing and engineering.
According to Jungwon Ahn, the program’s associate professor and director, the scholarship funding will have a broad impact on students enrolled in the program.
The program has also expanded its reach through new articulation agreements with Minnesota State’s two-year institutions, including Alexandria Technical & Community College and Hennepin Technical College. These partnerships create clear pathways for students transferring from community colleges to complete their degrees at St. Cloud State.
