A long-standing Rockwall tradition is set to return this fall as the Aspasians Marketplace brings a day full of shopping, food, and community spirit to town on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Hosted by the Aspasians, the fall marketplace will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium parking lot at 1201 T.L. Townsend Drive.
Now in its 53rd year, the Aspasians Marketplace draws more than 200 vendors and is one of the area’s most popular events – and for good reason.
Every dollar raised from vendor booth fees and bottled water sales goes directly toward college scholarships for Rockwall County high school seniors.
This year, the organization awarded $85,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors, chosen for their academics, leadership, work ethic and community involvement. In the spring alone, the group raised $43,000.
The marketplace is held twice a year, in the spring and fall. Originally hosted in Rockwall’s downtown square, the event moved to its current location as it expanded in size and popularity.
