
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is helping expand access to scholarships and tutoring for first-generation college students across Georgia.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering over $4 million through the Department of Education’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant program to support college students across Georgia.
Trio SSS grants are used by higher education institutions to support students and ensure their academic success through tutoring programs, financial and academic counseling, and other support necessary to successfully enroll in and graduate from a four-year institution.
“I remain focused on strengthening access to higher education across Georgia,”Sen. Ossoff said.“I am delivering these Federal resources to support young people and help them access vital resources as they pursue their degree.”
Schools receiving support from the grant include Savannah State University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia State University, University of Georgia, and Mercer University.
