Seventeen nursing students were awarded $100,000 in scholarships from the Dane G. Hansen Scholarship fund at Cloud County Community College.
The scholarship is administered by the college, and students were awarded scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year. The scholarship recipients are: Melissa Chavez, Salina; Araceli Davila, Salina; Katie Eakins, Concordia; Caroline Flavin, Concordia; Nicole Gonzolas, Salina; Sienna Harris, Concordia; Amy Jones, Concordia; Kelsi Lamer, Salina; Holli Masek, Hickman, Neb; Binita Pokhrel, Manhattan; Meghan Sandlin, Salina; Keri Ymballa, Minneapolis.
The Dane G. Hansen Foundation aspires to enhance the quality of life throughout rural communities in northwest Kansas. The Foundation strongly supports the continuing education of rural community members and awards scholarships to those who are willing to work in the 26-county service area of northwest Kansas upon graduation. Those who receive this scholarship must be currently enrolled in the CCCC nursing program. The scholarship will cover tuition, fees, books, and some miscellaneous expenses.
“We are profoundly grateful for the continued student support provided by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation,” said Stefanie Perret, MSN, RN, Division Dean. “This scholarship fund equips our students to make meaningful contributions to rural healthcare, furthering the mission of Cloud County Community College.”
