VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) – A handful of Warren Central High School football players are gaining attention on the recruiting trail as they prepare for the 2025 season. With summer workouts underway, multiple Vikings have picked up scholarship offers from junior colleges across the state and region.
Linebacker Chaka Walker, a returning defensive leader, recently earned his third scholarship offer. He now holds offers from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Hinds Community College and Southwest Mississippi Community College. Walker was a key piece of the Vikings’ defense last season, finishing with 68 tackles, one sack, and All-District honors.
Wide receiver Mike Hall, a rising senior, has been offered by Hinds, Sussex Community College, Southwest Mississippi and Co-Lin. Hall made headlines during the spring game after hauling in a 34-yard touchdown reception against Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
Landon Green has also been heavily recruited this offseason, collecting offers from Mississippi Gulf Coast, Hinds and Southwest Mississippi. Green posted 70 tackles last season, including 14 tackles for loss, four pass deflections and an interception. Like Walker, he was named to the All-District Team.
Athlete Caleb Lane announced in May that he received an offer from Co-Lin. The 6-foot-1 prospect is expected to play a versatile role for the Vikings this fall.
Offensive lineman Carmelo Clark is currently one of the most sought-after players on the team. Clark has eight scholarship offers, including from Co-Lin, Southwest, Mississippi Delta and Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Warren Central finished 9-4 last season under head coach Josh Morgan, winning back-to-back district titles in 2024 and 2023.
