SHELBY COUNTY — The Shelby County Democratic Women’s Committee recently awarded two $500 educational scholarships to Shelby County natives Brianna Brewer and Scarlett O’Keefe, as stated in a news release.
Brewer, a student at Ohio Northern University, is majoring in pharmaceutical and healthcare management. She serves as president of Beta Gamma Sigma and vice president of the Dean’s Advisory Board.
O’Keefe is pursuing a degree in environmental biology at Ohio University. A graduate of Sidney High School, she was actively involved in the National Honor Society, choir, band and German club. O’Keefe continues to give back to the community through volunteer work with the Shelby County Historical Society and Brukner Nature Center.
Both students also maintain part-time jobs.
