The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the tremendous success of the 8th Annual Sheriff’s Scholarship Golf Outing, held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the scenic Blue Bell Country Club.
This year’s outing raised more than $65,000, pushing the total funds raised since the scholarship’s inception in 2017 to an impressive $300,000. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, the outing organizers were able to award $3,600 in scholarships to two outstanding Penn State Abington students pursuing degrees in criminal justice.
Founded by Sheriff Sean Kilkenny, the Sheriff’s Scholarship Fund was established to support the educational aspirations of sheriff’s office employees and their families. Over time, eligibility has expanded to include all Montgomery County employees and qualified students, with preference given to sheriff’s office personnel.
“This event is more than just a day on the golf course,” said Sheriff Sean Kilkenny. “It’s about investing in the future of our community and supporting the educational goals of those who serve Montgomery County. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
Proceeds from the annual golf outing fund scholarships for 4-year degree programs at Penn State Abington, while the original endowment continues to support students at Montgomery County Community College.
Outing organizers were honored to welcome Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Kevin Dougherty as the keynote speaker, whose presence added distinction to an already memorable day.
Special thanks to everyone who made this event possible. Your continued support helps make higher education more accessible and attainable for Montgomery County students.
