The ninth Amanda K. Strous Memorial Field Hockey Scholarship has been awarded to Lilly Cantabene, a junior from York, Pennsylvania, attending Shippensburg University. As the recipient, Cantabene will wear Strous’ former uniform number, 22, during the Fall 2025 field hockey season. Previous scholarship recipients include Emilia Conners (2024), Paige Graber (2023), Maura Mears (2022), Maddie Reuther (2021), Sarah Womer (2020), Mikayla Cheney (2019), Ally Mooney (2018), and Brooke Sheibley (2017).
Cantabene, who will be a senior in 2025, has played in 43 games and scored 15 goals in her career at Shippensburg University. She expressed her honor in receiving the scholarship and her admiration for Amanda Strous’ legacy, which she described as a fundamental part of the Shippensburg Field Hockey community.
