Kazah Temple 149 AEAONMS Incorporated (Miami Prince Hall Shriners) recently presented $1,000 scholarships to two deserving high school graduating students from Miami-Dade County.
The students – Kendall Crapp and Sa’Niyah Jean – were selected based on their high school record of academic achievement and community service.
Kendall Crapp is a senior at Robert Morgan Senior High School. A student athlete, Kendall plays point guard on his school’s varsity basketball team while consistently earning honor roll distinctions throughout his academic career.
Crapp serves as class treasurer on the 2025 Senior Board. He has accumulated over 1,000 community service hours, most of which was earned while managing his nonprofit PrayInPink. Kendall created the initiative Athletes vs Cancer, soliciting help from fellow athletes to donate items to create care packages for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
As a result of his efforts to advocate for breast cancer awareness, Kendall will be representing his school as a Miami Herald Silver Knight Nominee. Outside of school, he is a member of Top Teens of America and holds the position of second vice president. He is a member of the local NAACP Youth Council and an active member of his church.
In the fall, Crapp will attend Florida Atlantic University where he will major in civil engineering and aspires to own his own engineering firm.
Sa’Niyah Jean is a graduating senior from the Forensic Science Magnet Program at Barbara Goleman Senior High School. She has taken over 14 honors courses, more than nine AP classes, and completed nine dual enrollment college courses.
Jean serves as the vice president for her senior class, vice president of the First Priority Club, president of the Best Buddies Club, and senator of the Youth Crime Watch Club.
In the fall she will be matriculating to the University of Central Florida where she will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science through the Biochemistry Track.
Passionate about justice and science, she aspires to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a trace evidence analyst or the Drug Enforcement Administration agency as a drug chemist.
The Honorable Nelson Mandela once stated that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” In this vein, Kazah Temple 149 is committed to celebrating the success of local high school students and supporting them as they pursue their professional dreams through a college education, Illustrious Potentate Roy Edmonds penned.
