CELINA — The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership recently selected Edison State Community College student Noah Roy, of Sidney, as a recipient of one of five $1,000 scholarships.
Lew Modic, WCOMP director, and Edison State Workforce Success Specialist Dr. Roger Fulk, who served as a member of the WCOMP Selection Committee, presented Roy with his award at the association’s May membership meeting held at Wright State University – Lake Campus in Celina.
Roy is majoring in the electronics engineering technology associate’s degree program at Edison State with a concentration in electro-mechanical engineering. He will also earn a short-term technical certificate in computer-aided design. He then plans to continue his education and earn a bachelor’s degree.
About his interest in engineering, Roy said, “From a young age, I have been insatiably curious about the way things work. Naturally, this curiosity has led me to the field of engineering and manufacturing, where I get to become a part of the incredible process of turning physics into worldwide solutions.”
Upon graduation, Roy hopes to work at one of the manufacturing facilities in the Shelby or Miami County area using his skills to develop robotic systems for the use of automated production.
