Noel Onate has been named a semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition places him among the top academically talented high school students in the nation.
Sidney High School is proud to announce that senior Noel Onate has been named a semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition places him among the top academically talented high school students in the nation.
Noel, a 4.0 student, is known not only for his outstanding scholastic achievements but also for his leadership, character, and wide-ranging involvement in school activities. He is an active member of National Honor Society, HOSA, DECA, and serves as a leader in band, show choir, speech, play production, and music. His accomplishments reflect both his academic excellence and his commitment to representing Sidney High School with Raider pride.
“We are very proud of Noel and excited for this opportunity,” said Sidney High School Principal Ryan Plummer. “He is an impressive student who demonstrates integrity, dedication, and leadership in everything he does. This recognition is a testament to his hard work and the bright future ahead of him.”
As a National Merit semifinalist, Noel will now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships to be awarded in 2026.
