Since 2018, the Democratic Women of Comal County has awarded memorial scholarships to deserving students who plan to continue their education beyond high school.
Lynn Silver is a New Braunfels resident and writer for the Democratic Women of Comal County. This column appears each month in the Herald-Zeitung.
The Robbi and Dan Boone Scholarship and the Ann Patla Science and Technology Scholarship were established to support the educational journey of local students who achieve academic excellence, exhibit noteworthy personal attributes, and apply for financial aid. Since community engagement is a driving force of the DWCC, providing scholarships to local students shows their community believes in, supports, and invests in their educational goals. There have been thirteen scholarship recipients to date. The 2024 scholarship winners are Hadassah Rivera and Maverick Ethridge, and both NBHS students plan to attend Texas State University. Congratulations to these outstanding young citizens who desire to make a positive difference in their community and the lives of others.
