Las Vegas (KSNV) — Silver State Schools Credit Union (SSSCU) has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 People Over Profit (POP) Foundation Scholarships, aimed at Nevada high school seniors.
Since its inception in 1989, the scholarship program has awarded over $1.3 million to outstanding Southern Nevada students to assist with higher education tuition.
The POP Foundation Scholarship Program seeks to honor students who excel in academics, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
Each year, ten recipients are awarded a renewable $2,000 scholarship, totaling up to $8,000 over four years.
Of these scholarships, eight are merit-based, one is need-based, and one is designated for a future teacher.
"At Silver State Schools Credit Union, we are deeply committed to investing in Nevada's future by supporting the academic dreams of our youth," said Scott A. Arkills, President and CEO of Silver State Schools Credit Union. "The POP Foundation Scholarship Program reflects our dedication to fostering success, inspiring community involvement, and easing the financial burden of higher education for Nevada’s brightest students."
The scholarship program is available to SSSCU members graduating from an accredited high school in Nevada in 2025.
All Nevada residents can become members of SSSCU, making them eligible for this scholarship opportunity.
The deadline for the 2025 scholarship application is 11:59 p.m. PST on Friday, March 7.
