Simi Sunrise Rotary 2025 scholarships include three special honorees – Simi Valley Acorn

SMART STUDENTS— Royal High School had the biggest contingent of Rotary scholarship winners with 11 student recipients. Two Royal students won special scholarships not only for their academic prowess but for making an impact on the community. The Simi Sunrise Rotary Club has awarded $22,000 in scholarships to 27 Simi Valley graduating seniors.
Candidates for the award demonstrated a mix of academic achievement, financial need, community service, and school service.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are as follows:
• Apollo High School: Kasey Coronel, Julisa Gomez, Antonio Morales and Michelle Pech
• Royal High School: Chloe Drudy, Lola Forbes-Black, Julianna Galbraith, Rashi Khandare, Mikayla Lev, Kenna Magoffin, Kathryn Milano, Karen Truong and Maiya Vallejo
• Santa Susana High School: Kirsten Adler, Pranav Bijith, Vaidehi Sharma, Nicholas Thor and Jonas Tieu
• Simi Valley High School: Sahasra Anne, Aaron Dinh, Paige Lewis, Joshua Nghiem, Klayssa Ro and Ashitha Singh.
The awards also included three scholarships that specifically honor individuals who have made a difference in the club and the community. The recipients were chosen for their demonstration and compassion for others and the world around them. The three scholarships and their recipients are the Savi Bhim One World One Rotary Scholarship to Royal’s Miriam Ahmadian; the Blommendahl Memorial Scholarship to Royal’s Ryan Henderson and the Rob Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship to Simi’s Tanvi Ijju.
The Simi Sunrise Rotary Club was founded in 1986 and raises money for the scholarships as well as other local and international charities through their various fundraising events.
