The Smith Mountain Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering four $5000 SMAAUW Scholarship awards for the 2025-2026 academic year. Additionally this year, there is ONE Scholarship available for $6000; the SMAAUW Toni Seidelmann Memorial Scholarship. This Scholarship celebrates Toni’s legacy by supporting students with STEM majors, particularly those with a focus on Mathematics. The scholarship committee announced the launch of the application process at their January Branch Meeting. They have sent the applications to 65 colleges and universities. Community members are encouraged to share the announcement at churches, organizations, stores and businesses in the area. Women whose primary permanent residence is in Bedford, Franklin, or Pittsylvania County may apply. Applicants must currently be pursuing a degree in an accredited university, college, or community college in the US, and must have completed at least one semester. Dual enrolled students with at least 12 credits will be considered. For an application and more details, visit the website: smithmountain-va.aauw.net and click on Scholarships.
