Applications and Nominations for the Smash for Success Scholarship and Mentor Award are Now Open
MIAMI – Smash GC announced the official launch of the 2025 edition of its flagship community impact initiative, Smash for Success—a program rooted in the belief that golf can be a powerful tool for growth, opportunity, and mentorship. Following a successful pilot in 2023 and a breakout year in 2024, this year’s program continues to uplift junior golfers while shining a spotlight on the mentors who guide them.
In past seasons, as part of the Smash for Success program, Smash GC has welcomed over 75 junior golfers and 15 coaches from underrepresented communities to LIV Golf events across the U.S., giving them a behind-the-scenes experience with the pros. Through life skills sessions, mentorship touchpoints, and direct access to professional golf, the program continues to grow its impact every year. This year, headlining the team’s charitable initiatives once again are two cornerstone honors: the Smash for Success Scholarship and the Mentor of the Year Award.
“This isn’t just about golf—it’s about who these kids can become because of it,” said Smash GC Captain and five-time major champion Brooks Koepka. “We’re here to support the next generation, and that means investing in both the players and the people who shape them.”
Open to junior golfers across the U.S., the Smash for Success Scholarship supports young athletes pursuing higher education while upholding the values of the game—integrity, discipline, and respect. Candidates for the scholarship must have a minimum GPA of a 2.5 and must show outstanding leadership as an athlete and student and have participated in a minimum of two seasons of golf. The following year, the scholarship student will be asked to speak to high school seniors hosted at the first US-based LIV Golf tournament in 2026.
To complement the Smash for Success Scholarship, the Mentor of the Year Award will be awarded to a deserving mentor in the community as behind every great golfer is someone who believed in them first.
Previous award recipients include 2024 Smash for Success Honoree, Isaac Westbrook and Jon Gee, the 2024 Smash for Success Mentor Honoree.
To kick-off this year’s program, Smash GC welcomed local high school students to Trump National Doral where they participated in a team-led Q&A with Smash GC players followed by a life skills and leadership discussion.
Applications and nominations for both initiatives are now open and run through June 30, 2025. To apply for the scholarship, fill out the application here.
