On May 9th, 11 FCHS graduates were honored with a variety of scholarships provided by the SML Lions Scholarship Trust.  The recipients included:
The presentation ceremony was held at Copper Cove Golf Club during the SML Lions Club May meeting. The recipients and their families were invited to enjoy a buffet dinner catered by the Golf Club and to receive the scholarships.
The four-year scholarships will assist the recipients with their continuing education at any institution of their choice and are paid out each year after the completion of the academic requirements as they pass from year to year.
The recipients of the Transfer scholarships will similarly receive their awards once they enter four-year institutions after completing their two-year degrees at any Virginia community college. The skilled trades scholarships will be used by their recipients to further their training in the skilled trades of their choice.
With the Class of 2024, the SML Lions Scholarship Trust has now provided FCHS graduates with more than 160 scholarships totaling more than $800,000.
The SML Lions Club congratulates all the Class of 2024 scholarship recipients.
