The Soroptimist International Clubs of Humboldt County are ready to receive applications for the Live Your Dream Award as well as other awards.
The Live Your Dream Award is an education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families, assisting them with resources to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Eligible applicants can submit applications at www.soroptimist.org (click on the Live Your Dream tab) through Nov.15.
Other awards are available from each of the different clubs.
Soroptimist International of Arcata is also offering a youth award and youth scholarship. The Violet Richardson Award application for young women 14 to 18 years of age can be found at si-founderregion.org with a Dec. 15 deadline.
The Cynthia Schwenson scholarship application is available from Arcata and McKinleyville High School counselors.
Soroptimist International of Eel River Valley is offering three youth awards: the Violet Richardson Award, Youth Citizenship Award and Student Teen Award for Resilience. Additional adult women awards are the Women’s Opportunity Award, Ruby Award and the K. Chapman Mental Health/Social Work Scholarship. Soroptimist International of Eureka will be offering several awards to women and girls. In addition to multiple Live Your Dream awards, the club offers two other adult awards: the Ruby Award and the Courage Award, which honors a woman who focuses on helping other women and is either a veteran or first responder. The club also offers two youth awards; the Violet Richardson Award and the Kate Burns

Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay is offering four youth awards: the Violet Richardson Award, Distinguished Youth Award, Steam Award and the “S” Club Award. In addition to having two Live Your Dream adult awards, the club is also offering a Ruby Award and two Re-Entry Awards. Soroptimist International the Redwoods in the Garberville/Redway area offers the Violet Richardson Award youth award for young women ages 14 to 18. The deadline for application is Dec. 15. For more information, go to www.si-redwoods.org.
