Members of Southport Aerospace Centre Inc.’s (Southport) team attended the Manitoba Aviation Council Conference in Winnipeg this week where they had the privilege to award the Southport Manitoba Aviation Council Scholarship to Naampreet Kaur, a Red River College – Stevenson Campus student pursuing a diploma in aircraft maintenance engineering.
Kaur, who will be apprenticing with Canadian Helicopters Limited (CHL) this summer in Southport, shared the following in her scholarship application: “I am excited about the future and eager to contribute meaningfully to aviation, a field that has inspired me for as long as I can remember.”
Kaur is the third recipient of the Southport Manitoba Aviation Council Scholarship, which was first created & awarded in 2023 under the leadership of Southport’s late CEO, Peggy May, who herself received the Manitoba Aviation Council’s Top Flight Award back in 2023.
Southport is proud to have the aircraft maintenance engineering program offered locally through Red River College – Stevenson Campus, which operates out of Hangar 4 in Southport.
