(KNSI) – Money raised from selling special license plates will help veterans get help from horses in central Minnesota.
Gaits of Hope in Rice got $100,000 from the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Support Our Troops license plate grant program. The money will be used for scholarships to help provide equine therapy for veterans and their family members.
The MDVA SOT grant program offers a competitive process that allows organizations to apply for funding ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. The groups must be focused on supporting and improving the lives of veterans and their families.
To purchase SOT plates, visit a Department of Motor Vehicle office or ask for them from a dealership when buying a vehicle.
