Spencer Savings Bank recently announced it has awarded $37,500 in scholarships to 25 local high school graduates in the communities the bank serves.
The $1,500 scholarships are bestowed yearly to exceptional students in New Jersey, the bank said. Since the commencement of the bank’s scholarship program in 2002, almost $700,000 in scholarships have been awarded to deserving students throughout the state.
This year, students who attend schools in the following counties were honored:
Spencer Chair and CEO Jose Guerrero said the bank was thrilled to honor students.
“We are very proud to continue to support education in our community by providing our youth with almost $40,000 in scholarships to help them with their academic pursuits,” he said. “At Spencer, supporting education, learning and growth in our community will always be extremely important to us. We celebrate and honor these gifted students for their dedication and pursuit of academic excellence.”
