The first monthly meeting of 2025 for the Northern Virginia Athletic Directors, Administrators and Coaches Association (NVADACA) organization is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at Springfield Golf and Country Club.
The cost for lunch is $20.
Information about the organization is discussed at the monthly meetings, with a guest speaker included.
For 54 years, the longstanding NVADACA group has been an organization that has provided as many as 26 annual named scholarships to local high-school senior student-athletes from Northern Virginia public-schools who are pursuing college degrees.
The group has awarded more than $1 million to more than 600 students since its inception. In 2024, there were 25 scholarships of $5,000 each awarded.
In addition to the funds collected from membership dues, NVADACA is dependent on contributions and financial support of friends, businesses and the professional community. Also, each year NVADACA hosts a golf tournament to support the scholarship program.
In late May or early June, an annual breakfast banquet is held to award the scholarships.
NVADACA will determine the number of scholarships in March. All eligible applicants will be included in the selection process. Committees made up of representatives of the NVADACA community will evaluate applications.
Students can now apply for the scholarship. Membership, donations and golf tournament information also are available on the website. For questions, email nvadacascholarship@gmail.com.
