SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (April 23, 2025) — On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the Springfield and Central Illinois Trades and Labor Council (SCITLC) awarded $7,000 in scholarships to high-school and college students of union family members.
The SCITLC offers annual scholarships for union members and/or dependents who plan on attending an accredited public school in Illinois including College, Vocational, or Trade School. There were thirteen applicants including six college students and seven High School students.
“This is the second year for the Springfield and Central Illinois Labor Council Scholarships,” stated SCITLC President, Nick Yelverton. “We are excited about awarding these students to help them pursue a public education in Illinois.”
