Mangaluru: St Aloysius ITI organised a retirement programme for Mr Umesh J A, Junior Training Officer (Electronics Mechanic), recognising his 31 years of dedicated service, along with a scholarship distribution ceremony for deserving students.
The retirement programme, held at 10 AM in the college auditorium, was presided over by Rev. Fr. John Dsouza S J, Director, St Aloysius ITI. The event was graced by Mr Nazeer Ahmed, Former General Secretary of Jamiyyatul Falah – DK & Udupi, and Director, Ace IAS Academy, along with Mr Roshan Dsouza, Principal; Mr Noel Lobo and Mr Wilson N, Training Officers; Mr Alwyn Menezes, Vice Principal; Mr Rohan Monteiro, Alumni, SAITI; and Mrs Padmavathi, Programme Convener.
Students from the Electronics Mechanic course performed a prayer song, followed by heartfelt tributes from Ms Preethi Sequeria (1st year) and Mr Mohammed Habil (2nd year). The felicitation ceremony was conducted by Mr Noel Lobo, and Mr Umesh J A expressed his gratitude in an emotional speech.
Scholarships provided by the Management of St Aloysius ITI were awarded to deserving students to support their academic journey. The distribution was led by Vice Principal, Mr Alwyn Menezes.
Chief Guest, Mr Nazeer Ahmed, encouraged students to give back to the institution once they achieve success in their careers, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the teaching staff.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. John Dsouza S J praised Mr Umesh J A’s long-standing contributions and wished him good health and happiness in his new chapter of life. He also urged students to embrace the values of giving and gratitude towards their alma mater.
The event concluded with a farewell song dedicated to Mr Umesh J A, a vote of thanks by Mrs Padmavathi, and was compered by Mr Akvil (MMV 2nd year student).
