According to a press release from the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, the Starke County Community Foundation’s summer scholarship applications are now open.
Three scholarships are currently available to support Starke County residents in their pursuit of higher education:
• The Back Home Again in Indiana Scholarship supports non-traditional students who wish to pursue higher education and/or training to enhance their skills for employment. Non-traditional students include those who have graduated from high school or obtained a GED and have delayed entrance into college, rather than earning a degree immediately after high school.
• The Forrest and Helen Whitson Scholarship provides scholarships to sophomore and higher-level Purdue University students in the school of Engineering, Agriculture, or Consumer and Family Living and who also graduated from a Starke County High School.
• The Megan Elytha Jean Sahlhoff Music Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for Starke County residents who are graduating from North Judson -San Pierre High School and are pursuing a career with a major or minor in the field of music or a music related field.
A link to applications for these scholarships can be found here.
Scholarship applications are due by Tuesday, July 1, at 2 p.m. CT.
