Four standout student athletes across Arkansas have been awarded $2,000 each as part of the 5th annual Rock City Running and Kinco Constructors Student Athlete Scholarship. This year’s recipients are Ellie Taylor of Atkins High School, Jennifer Gulliot of Bryant High School, Sawyer Copeland of Lincoln High School and Caden Calhoun of Rosebud High School.
The scholarship honors high school athletes who demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and integrity on and off the field. The 2025 awards mark the first year the program has expanded to include four winners instead of two.
“We are pleased to provide four scholarships this year, up from two,” said Bill Torrey, owner of Rock City Running. “Ellie, Jennifer, Sawyer and Caden are the total package. They are well deserving.”
Kinco Constructors, a long-time supporter of youth development and community involvement, is a co-sponsor of the scholarship.
“A lifelong runner myself, it was a natural choice to partner with Rock City Running,” said William Fletcher, executive vice president and COO of Kinco Constructors. “Investing in a student’s education is fundamentally important to myself and both companies.”
This year’s scholarships were also made possible through contributions from the Little Rock Roadrunners Club and Manfred and Sheila Galatowitsch.
Winners were selected from a pool of more than 65 applicants across the state. Each applicant was evaluated on academic performance, extracurricular involvement, achievements in track and cross country, and their response to an essay question.
The annual scholarship program highlights the shared commitment of Rock City Running and Kinco Constructors to foster opportunity, fitness and future success for Arkansas students.
