Caldwell County native Emma Forester has been awarded the Texas Exes Scholarship from the Caldwell County Chapter, an honor that recognizes outstanding students pursuing higher education at the University of Texas at Austin.
Forester, the daughter of Mary and Blain Forester, is a sophomore at UT where she is majoring in Health and Society. With plans to apply to nursing school this fall, she has already distinguished herself through her academic achievements and community involvement.
On campus, Forester is active in the Pre-Health Distinguished Scholars Program, a group that supports students preparing for careers in medicine and healthcare. This past summer, she participated in the Dell Medical School’s Health Science Summer Camp, where she gained hands-on experience in the medical field.
Her passion extends beyond clinical work. Since arriving at UT, Forester says she has been “hooked not just on healthcare, but also on teaching others about it.” She hopes to combine her love for medicine with education, creating opportunities to inspire and mentor future healthcare professionals.
