NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Students and parents interested in the Tennessee Promise scholarship need to submit their applications as soon as possible.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship and mentorship program is Monday. Its website states that the program, funded by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, aims to increase the number of students who go on to attend college in the Volunteer State.
“It provides students a last-dollar scholarship, meaning the scholarship will cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees not covered by the Pell grant, the HOPE scholarship, or the Tennessee Student Assistance Award,” the website says.
Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
The scholarship can be applied to any state community college, applied technology college or “other eligible institution offering an associate degree program.”
Applications opened on August 1. Click here to learn more.
