During the Floyd County Board of Education’s meeting on April 28, Floyd Central High School students Cameron Howard and Lincoln Slone, pictured, received scholarships from the Floyd County Education Association (FCEA). Safety Resource Officer Kevin Shepherd was also honored for winning SRO of the Year for District 5. Additionally, Nicole Newsome, a parent at John M. Stumbo Elementary, was recognized for helping the school plan and fund their sensory-friendly room.Autism Awareness Month is celebrated during the month of April.
