Three local students have been awarded scholarships from Yates Companies, Inc.
Elijah Kilpatrick, Maddox Madison and Adrian Luke have been awarded a $6,000 Yates Companies,Inc. Scholarship for the first two years of college. They wereselected by a scholarship committee at The Yates Companies, Inc. based upon academics, extracurricular activities, and two short essays.
Carolyn Voyles, Chairperson of The Yates Companies, Inc. Scholarship Committee said, “We set up the scholarship program to recognize and reward high school seniors of our employees who meet certain criteria and wish to further education at the post-secondary level. This allows us to be a part of preparing young people for the future.”
Kilpatrick will graduate from Union High School this spring and plans to major in music education and welding. Elijah is the son of Chris and Nicole Kilpatrick. Chris works for Edwards Electric Service, LLC, which is a part of The Yates Companies, Inc.
Madison will graduate from Neshoba Central High School this spring and plans to major in electrical engineering. Maddox is the son of Jenna Beason and James Madison. Jenna works for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company, which is a part of The Yates Companies, inc.
Luke will graduate from Philadelphia High School this spring and plans to major in engineering. Adrian is the son of Chris and Kimberly Luke. Kimberly works for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction, which is a part of The Yates Companies, Inc.
